Self-care & mental health in the work with children and youngsters

Die Anmeldung zu dieser Veranstaltung ist abgeschlossen
A training opportunity for everybody working with children and/or young people whose personal and professional well-being has been affected by the pandemic, as well as the current situation. Here you can learn strategies for coping with stress and taking care of yourself.

The aim of the training is to look at our well-being as educators, trainers, and activists, reflect on our needs in this regard, and create a first aid kit that we can apply when working with young people.
Participants will learn how to identify challenging and stress-inducing situations and factors, and what kinds of support might be particularly useful. The programme will include empathy training but will also relate to the body – embedding, grounding, and recognizing how body awareness can support psychological well-being. Emphasis will also be given to communication strategies, including elements of Non-Violent Communication (NVC), which can be beneficial in dealing with people with various stress-related conditions.
The working methods during the training will be based on the exchange of experiences and deep reflection. A variety of methods will be used to help the participating professionals to address their own needs and, through this, discover the issue of mental health and psychological well-being of young people.
An important goal of the training is to equip youth work professionals with tools and methods to accompany and support young people in dealing with the challenges they are currently facing.
